I Believe

I believe that the world needs me to make a difference.
I believe that I have an obligation to stand up for what I feel is right, true and
important.
I believe that if I do not stand up for what I believe in that I have no right to expect
others to care either.
I believe that although I have been through the fires of hell and back there will always
be a sadder and worse situation than any I have been in.
I believe that it is my right as well as responsibility to be that hand that reaches
out.
I believe that I cannot make others love me. I can only be myself and if that fails to
be enough to make them happy then it is their loss not mine.
I believe that in being true to myself and my beliefs I can also reach out to include
the universe with a hug. No man/woman is an island. We need each other.
I believe that the journey starts with the first step. No person that I know of has
gone on a trip by remaining seated.
I believe that the destination is not the journey. The journey is life.
I believe that exercising the mind/brain is as important as exercising the body. That
the person who seeks thought will live longer, live happier. That the things that
make us happy will vary from person to person and that is all right.
I believe that two people do not have to be alike to get along. I believe a little
tolerance goes a long way.
I believe that the words “I love you” are not just for lovers. They are necessary for a
healthy mind and psyche.
I believe that it will not kill me to wait as long as it is an ‘active waiting’. I also
believe that with any aspect of life and relationships that the universe is full of
‘options’ and that depression and suicide result when we fail to see all of those
options.
I believe that a closed mind is a very dangerous thing.
I believe that communication should be a requirement for any two people. Talk until
you either laugh or understand.
I believe that if you say something I do not understand I should make you discuss what
you meant until it is clear to me. I believe that being afraid to ask is a very dangerous
thing.
I believe that you are important to me, not only for what you bring me, but for what I
can help you with. With each interaction I learn and learning should never stop.
